Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data the Screenero website collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the GDPR.

Data controller

The data controller is Screenero, reachable at [email protected].

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect your name, your email address and the answers you give in the sign-up form (your profile, operating system and intended use), together with your language preference. Our privacy-friendly analytics (Umami) measure aggregate, anonymous traffic without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

Why we collect it

We use your name and email to tell you about the Screenero beta and launch and to send occasional product updates. Your form answers help us understand our audience and prioritise features. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.

Legal basis

We process your waitlist data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form. Aggregate analytics and security logs rely on our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.

Cookies and analytics

The website uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics tool (Umami) is cookieless and does not build a profile of you. Only storage strictly necessary to run the site may be used.

Who we share it with

We rely on trusted providers acting as processors on our behalf: Supabase (database hosting for waitlist data), Resend (email delivery and contact management), Vercel (website hosting) and Umami (privacy-friendly analytics). They may only process your data to provide their service to us.

International transfers

Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. When data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We keep your waitlist data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and in any case no longer than 1 month after the product launch, after which it is deleted.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may access, rectify or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, and request portability. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Children

The website and beta are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, together with its effective date, is always available on this page.
